My Story
I was seven years old when my family left our Native Mexico to the USA for a better opportunity. Navigating a new home nevertheless a new country as a 7 year old was frightening. As time progressed I learned the language and customs slowly coming out of my shell. Having this personal experience took me in the direction of Anthropology and Psychology as I believed they were both intertwined in our personas. I attended Western Michigan University and obtained my Bachelors in Psychology and Anthropology. Later I obtained my Master's in Anthropology. Feeling unfulfilled with academia and burnt out from anthropology I decided to pursue a Masters in social work to truly help people on a one on one setting. I haven't looked back.
During my educational career I started the martial art of judo and recently powerlifting. Both arts challenged me mentally and physically. I learned to work through my fears. As such I took this mentality into my everyday life. My motto is what I have learned in my martial arts, "to cry in the dojo and laugh in the battle field". Meaning, we do the inner work to succeed/navigate/ in the world. I'm here to provide a safe space to help people start their journey towards their goals.
